2019, our biggest year yet!
It’s been a spectacular year for Funky Little Shack. It’s time to thank everyone that’s invited us into their homes, and help them start a more sustainable life.
We kicked off 2019 with our dream Hamptons-style shack in Bannockburn, and finished up five completed luxury small homes across South-East Queensland. Not to mention, we sold another 15 Shacks, either in the design process or under construction. Check out all of our finished creations here.

Big issues and new friends!
It’s also been extremely rewarding to focus on some of the big issues facing our clients. We wanted to shine a light on how a Funky Little Shack could be the perfect alternative to aged care. As a result, and we’ve allowed a number of ageing parents to stay closer to their families while still retaining their freedom and independence. Have a read of our in-depth discussion here.
Most importantly, we made a bunch of new friends along the way. From Narelle and Luke in Bannockburn, Estelle in Brisbane, Kristie and Andre in Tallebudgera, Sue, Kevin and Daniel in Elanora, and Anne and Danielle in Labrador.
We’re grateful to help shape even a small part of their futures. We look forward to helping even more in 2020 with a Funky Little Shack of their own.
Onward to 2020!
While 2019 was the year Funky Little Shack started to spread it’s wings, we’re going to fly in 2020.
Planning is well underway to deliver 10 new shacks in our first six months, from Brisbane to Byron Bay. In addition, we’re determined to get 50 new designs off the ground by the end of the year. We’re also pushing our own boundaries with radical new designs. These include our first ever loft as well as a double storey Shack. We have a bunch of big goals and our team is dedicated to getting the job done.
We’ll also be making a number of changes to our process, products and team. We’ve secured a new sustainable off grid pack that we’ll be offering clients in 2020. This will help vastly reduce living costs for the community moving forward. In addition, we’re also welcoming a well experienced interior stylist to work with clients to produce an even funkier Shack.

New focuses for the new decade!
Furthermore, we want to focus on more of the top issues facing our clients.
The Aussie dream of owning a home is slipping away for many young people. We plan to highlight how a Funky Little Shack could be the answer.
We’re also excited to go in-depth on our philosophy of Triple Bottom Line Sustainability. It’s about living a life that’s financially, socially and environmentally sustainable. There are a plethora of big issues facing homeowners as we enter the new decade, and as a result, a number of important discussions to begin.
As always we are committed to providing custom-designed, luxury small homes that our clients are ecstatic to call their own. We can’t wait to make some new friends in 2020.
From all of us at Funky Little Shack, enjoy the holidays, Merry Christmas and have a Happy New Year!
