"Mel is very friendly and easy to work with. She made our ideas a reality and we now have a house that works perfectly for us. Especially helpful was her understanding of the rules and regulations in the Gold Coast that was new to us. Thanks again."
Recently moving to the Gold Coast from Healesville, Victoria our clients purchased a beautiful 1.5 acre property in Mudgeeraba that boasts plenty of room for their three-generation family to live comfortably and in style. It was planned for Di and Ed to live in the two bedroom Shack and their daughter, son-in-law and young family to live in the primary home.
Di loves French Country style and wanted to create this for their new Shack. Interior styling and colour schemes were most important. Also where to locally source the fixtures and furnishings that would work with the theme.
We're excited to show you the finished product and you don't always need to spend a lot of money to get a fabulous result!
The Shack was rendered and then a feature stone was added to both the front entrance and the entire back wall where a large deck expands out. A water fountain was placed central, and adjacent to, stunning front wrought iron doors
Through the entrance you immediately enter into a large open plan dining/ kitchen area. The timber look disperses throughout the space, harmonising with their existing black dining suite and new white kitchen
The fresh white kitchen in 2-pack paint and stone bench top has a separate walk in pantry where a laundry nook is also neatly placed to the side. Feature pendant lights in black/copper pick up the floor and black accents of cook top, ornaments and furnishings. The tones of the tiled splash-back harmonises with the vinyl flooring and allows this colour stream to flow the wall.
To the right of the kitchen/dining is the second (guest) bedroom and the main bathroom. Rose gold fittings with timber wall mounted vanity and timber framed mirror were chosen. The Shack signature extra large shower runs wall to wall with frameless fixed glass screen.
Notice the design detail of accenting black aluminum windows with white painted timber frames in these images. This colour scheme runs throughout the Shack.
To the left of the dining/living space, along a short corridor, is an open study nook about 2x2 metres in size, with window to let natural light in. A wall mounted TV monitor and French country themed storage and furnishings maximises the use of the small space.
The spacious, light filled master bedroom feels inviting and calming with a neutral colour palette and feature wall paneling. Black accent colour has been used for the ceiling fan, picture framing, headboard and lamp shade, in context with the black window frames.
Continuing on with the theme, our client cleverly used old style suitcases as storage above the cupboards in their walk in robe.
The en suite features a black chandelier feature wall tiles behind a stand alone vanity with black tap framed mirror, and side cupboard. A large open shower and toilet on the opposite side.
And our favourite room of all! An outdoor room running off the en suite to a private and intimate bath space, featuring a gorgeous grey stone bath. Concrete pavers mark the way from the en suite to the bath. Di and Ed have added purple fairy lights above and lots of greenery to create a real calming ambience.
